I have just been watching a TV programme in the series 'Classical Destinations' on the Sky Arts channel. This episode was mainly about the Sydney Opera House. I was amazed to see the difference in the Harbour area since my fleeting two-day visit on 11 and 12 July 1965. All the ‘high level’ pics below were taken either from the NW Tower of the Harbour Bridge or from the viewing platform of the top of the AMP Building (which no longer appears to be there) on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 July 1965. I imagine the Pylon Cottage, which was on the very top of the NW Tower, is no longer there either. My camera at the time was a 35mm Pentax SV with 50mm and 400mm interchangeable lenses and I used Agfacolor transparency film.
It was a very misty and surprisingly cold morning when I arrived in Sydney. You may read about what was at the time a secret visit to Australia, on three pages on my other website.
